There is an unwritten rule used by restaurant professionals that says you should never open a restaurant in a site that had previously failed as a restaurant. You know, the place that’s something different every year or so…First Italian, then it’s a Chinese place, then Italian again and so and so on.
Well Crossroads in Nanuet is an exception to that rule. This place at the triangle on S. Middletown Rd, about 1 mile south of RT 59 has reinvented itself for the better.
Formerly a hodgepodge parade of poorly operated family restaurants, sports bars with bad TV’s, and known as a low end, cheap food place…The new owners of Crossroads have transformed the establishment into a quality , but not stogy or overly priced family steakhouse.
They offer a chef driven American Cuisine with a great bar complete with huge HDTV’s… You’ll find a well diversified menu, unique beers on tap, friendly service in a comfortable, casual atmosphere.
Although their steaks and lobster dishes are their feature and they are all outstanding, I am hooked on the perfectly grilled 1/2 pound 100% Angus beef burgers. They are the best I’ve ever eaten!
I would strongly recommend that you stop in for a great, moderately priced meal, or a cold beer and a burger while you watch the game.
On Saturday evenings you can expect a band or DJ in the bar area and the place is perfect for before or after a movie.
